The Association is pleased to announce the provision of bursaries to assist postgraduate research students to
attend the Law, Literature and Humanities Association of Australasia Conference, Law and Love (In and Beyond
Pandemic Times): Images and Narratives, Histories and Cultures. The conference will be held in a dual format
(virtual and in-person), at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Sippy Downs, and online. Conference
proceedings will run from 30 November – 2 December 2021, with a postgraduate day held on 29th November
2021.

The Law, Literature and Humanities Association of Australasia (LLHAA) has set aside A$4,000 for bursaries.
The value of bursary awarded to successful candidates will be based on intended mode of attendance. Successful
candidates planning to attend online will receive an award of A$180 to cover the cost of online registration.
Successful candidates planning to attend in-person and enrolled at Australian universities (excepting those in
Western Australia) will receive an award of A$500. Successful candidates planning to attend in-person and
enrolled at institutions in Western Australia and outside of Australia will be awarded A$600 in order to assist
with the additional cost of travel. If a successful candidate subsequently elects to revert to online participation
only, the bursary awarded will default to A$180, to cover the cost of online registration only.
Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, whilst also taking into account a distribution of
bursaries between online and in-person attendance. The exact number of bursaries will be determined by the
management committee of the LLHAA.
