The Regulating Time network aims to advance interdisciplinary scholarship on the relationship between law and dominant concepts of time. The network is funded for 2 years by the UK’s Arts and Humanities Research Council and is a collaboration between the Universities of Kent and York.
Please see attached our call for papers: Regulating Time: New Perspectives on Law, Regulation and Temporalities. We’re keen to have submissions in the area of labour, work, and employment. If you have any questions, please contact Emily Grabham (e.grabham@kent.ac.uk). The deadline for abstracts is 30 September 2015.
We’re also very interested in developing a focus on labour, regulation, and time and we are in the process of setting up a specific research ‘stream’ in the area, comprising (so far) labour historians, sociologists, labour lawyers and feminist legal theorists. We’re very keen to get an interdisciplinary conversation going and so would welcome stream members from a range of disciplinary backgrounds. The initial aim would be to have a stream on labour at the network’s international conference on 8-10 September 2016: The New Legal Temporalities: Discipline and Resistance across Domains of Time.
If you are interested in being involved in this stream, please let me know. If you are not already a member of the network, you can join here to get updates. Or you can follow us on twitter (@RegulatingTime).
